Raag Kafi ek aisa raag hai jo jan-samanya mein bahut lokpriya hai. Kyunki ismein mukhyatah Shringar ras (prem aur madhurta ka bhaav) prakat hota hai, isliye ismein vistaar se Bada Khayal gaayan aam taur par nahi kiya jata.
Iske sthan par is raag mein Holi, Dadra aur halka-shastriya dhunon ka gaayan aur vadan adhikatar kiya jata hai.
English - Raga Kafi is a raga that is widely popular among the masses. Because it predominantly expresses Shringar Rasa (the mood of love and romance), elaborate Bada Khayal compositions are generally not performed in it. Instead, forms such as Holi, Dadra, and light classical dhuns are mostly sung and played in this raga.
